Electric bike scheme pedals into action
Samworth Brothers business Walkers Deli & Sausage Co. is sponsoring a new electric bike docking station close to its Cobden Street bakery, part of a newly launched network of e-bike docks across Leicester operated by Santander Cycles. Colleagues at Walkers Deli & Sausage Co. can receive free membership to the scheme.
Olympic and World heptathlon champion Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill visited the docking station recently as part of the launch of the new Leicester scheme.
Sarah Robson, Head of People at Walkers Deli & Sausage Co. said: “The electric bikes are great and all that effort in riding a standard bike disappears as these are power-assisted. The e-bikes can be used to get to and from work, for leisure time, travel into the city or going to the local shops instead of travelling by car, bus or on-foot.”
