Investing in Electric

The latest investment for Samworth Brothers Supply Chain (SBSC), our distribution network, sees the arrival of two fully electric tractor units.

Initially, these new units will be shunting between SBSC Oak Meadow and Walkers Deli & Sausage Co., coupled to a solar powered refrigerated trailer.

This is a busy city route, and going forwards it will be travelling pollutant and carbon free, both from a noise and exhaust pipe perspective.

“It’s an amazing achievement for Samworth Brothers and has been fully supported by the Group Executive Board,” says SBSC Operations Director Paul Marrow. “I know everyone is very grateful for this opportunity and we are very proud of these new electric vehicles.”
