Community Opportunity
fund
At Samworth Brothers, we bring our purpose of ‘doing GOOD things with GREAT food’ to life by being a long-term force for good, reinvesting in the future of our business so we can make a positive difference for our people, our communities and our stakeholders.
To help realise this vision, the Samworth Brothers Community Opportunity Fund supports deserving community and sports projects close to Samworth Brothers’ locations.
About the
fund
The Fund was originally established as the Sports Opportunity Fund in 2013 following the success of the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics and a desire to support our communities to thrive through the legacy of the Games.
By giving a helping hand to young people to become more active, or to support an initiative that benefits their communities, the Fund helps improve their sense of worth, gain new skills, create opportunities and has a positive outcome for their communities. Since its inception, the Fund has made awards exceeding £2 million benefitting over 75 clubs and organisations.
What do we
support?
The Samworth Brothers Community Opportunity Fund offers two distinct types of funding awards:
- Community Development Award: This category supports general projects that align with our award criteria.
- Colleague Sponsored Award: This programme offers small grants, typically around £1,000 for projects that our colleagues have a connection to, through their children or through volunteering.
