Ginsters announces sponsorship of champion pro-surfer
Pasties and surfing. It’s an iconic combination which has put Cornish coastlines on the world map. Now, two of Cornwall’s leading exports will come together as Ginsters – proudly sponsors professional surfer, Luke Dillon. Lauded as a tour de force in British competitive surfing, Newquay-based Dillon has won every British title since winning the UK Quiksilver King of The Groms, aged nine.Following an incredible start to 2019, and with more than a decade of experience under his board, the World Surf League officially ranked Dillon 74th in the World Qualifying Series.
All-new for 2019, Ginsters – famous for bringing its own award-winning taste of Cornwall to the nation since 1969 – is supporting Dillon, aged 24, as he continues his mission to become one of the top ten surfers in the world. The brand is famous for baking over five decades; creating recipes that have an unmistakable distinctive flavour – without artificial ingredients, flavours or preservatives – and developed in collaboration with the county’s finest chef talent.Speaking about the sponsorship deal, Luke Dillon said: ‘I’m a proud Cornish boy, through-and-through. During my stints at home between competitions, I still get a buzz out of surfing at North Fistral, especially when you’re out with locals in the water, having fun and remembering what it’s all about.That’s why Ginsters is such an outstanding company to stand alongside; they’re a Cornish business that has been in Cornwall since the beginning and always champions everything our county has to offer.
