Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge is back for 2022

Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge is back for 2022
24/01/2022 Posted in: News

It has raised £2.2 million for good causes already since it was launched in 2007. After a pandemic postponement in 2021, the 2022 Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge will now take place on 11th and 18th June.

“Preparations and planning are well under way for June,” said Paula Shaw, Charity Challenge Coordinator. “It’s exciting that after the 2021 postponement, we’re back in organising mode. I know many of our teams and businesses are ramping up their fundraising efforts. So many charities and other good causes have suffered greatly from a massive decline in charitable donations during Covid-19 and the amazing level of fundraising that the Charity Challenge generates is needed more than ever.”

An event location has been identified but, as with previous Charity Challenges, this will be revealed nearer to the date. As with previous Challenges, the event is a triathlon style challenge involving cycling, a tough hill walk and canoeing.

The 2019 Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge was held on Exmoor and more than 100 teams raised an amazing £318,000 for charity. Each participating Charity Challenge team pledges to raise £2,000 for their charity, plus other funds are raised through sponsorship and other support.

Charities already selected by the 2022 teams include MIND, Rainbow Hospices, Cornwall Air Ambulance, Wishes4Kids, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, Tommys Baby Charity and The Daisy Appeal.

There are still a few team places available. Contact challenge.admin@www.samworthbrothers.co.uk for more information.
