Record-breaking Charity Challenge hits £400,000 total

30/09/2024

Congratulations to the 104 teams from Samworth Brothers, its suppliers and partners, who came together this summer for the 2024 Samworth Brother Charity Challenge.

A record-breaking £400,000 was raised, meaning a fantastic total of more than £2.8 million has been distributed to good causes since the first Charity Challenge event in 2007.

The exhilarating adventure saw each team of four people planning and navigating
their way across mountain, canoe and cycle sections to collect points and, most importantly, raise funds for good causes.

Participating teams raised money for 55 charities, as well as two charities local to Ambleside, where the event took place.

Five teams pledged fund to Rainbows, a hospice that looks after young people and their families in the East Midlands – means the charity received an amazing £35,000 boost.  Cancer Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society both received more than £20,000.   Other charities supported by teams included Young Lives v. Cancer, Mind, LOROS(Leicestershire hospice), the East Midlands Air Ambulance and many, many more.

A great win for all the good causes, plus a superb team effort enjoyed by all.

“Fantastic event. Stunning scenery, incredibly well organised and money raised for such great causes making the physical pain all worth it!” Charity Challenge team member

“From start to finish it was an amazing event and we were really made to feel welcome and part of the wider Samworth family.”  Leicestershire Cares
