SAMWORTH BROTHERS TEAMS SCOOP MAJOR PIE PRIZES
Congratulations to Samworth Brothers Savoury Pastry teams who scooped an extraordinary 34 awards at the 2025 British Pie Awards. Held annually in St. Mary’s Church in Melton Mowbray, the British Pie Awards recognise the finest pies from all over the United Kingdom.
Samworth Brothers teams clinched an outstanding nine Golds, sixteen Silver and nine Bronze awards against tough competition. Class wins were achieved in the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, Pork Pie, Savoury Pie Cold Eat and Large Speciality Pie categories.
A special mention for the Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in Melton Mowbray that won a record breaking 16 awards, including three class winners in the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, Pork Pie and Large Specialist Pie categories. The bakery won Golds for both its Dickinson & Morris Hand Crafted Melton Mowbray Pork Pie (790g) in the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie class and Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe Pork Pie (790g) in the Pork Pie class. The Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe Christmas Dinner Pie also won Gold in the Large Speciality class. Available from this December, the Christmas Dinner Pie combine the classic Christmas flavours into one delicious pie!
Dickinson & Morris was also the class winner in Savoury Pie Cold Eat with the Dickinson & Morris The Festive Cracker Pie created in collaboration with celebrity chef Calum Franklin.
Silver or Bronze medals were also won in other categories including Pasty, Beef & Gravy Pie, Chicken/Chicken & Veg/Herb Pie and Fusion Pie.
